Collaging for All Ages

Collage is one of my favorite forms of art. A two-year old can have fun with it, as could a 85 year old.

Below is a collage created by a talented four-year old student.

After an outline of the fish was pre-drawn by me, my student ripped up magazine papers to little pieces and glued them onto the image. When she was done collaging, she colored the background by using crayons (you can do this as well using any art media). The finished product was very colorful!

When trying this at home, you can use newspapers, magazine cutouts, construction paper, origami paper, etc. If you are assisting your child, remember to use child-friendly images/words! 🙂
